Tumamao is an experienced presenter with over 10 years in the Māori media industry – 7 years radio, 4 years in TV. He’s right into technology, the internet and gaming, so is the perfect person to front 411. His favourite bit of technology is Gadgets. Ask him which game you’ll find him playing at the moment and he’ll tell you Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2. His all-time favourite game is Strett Fighter 2
Aside from presenting the first series of 411, he’s also been a presenter on Pūkana, former news reader for Radio Watea, and announcer for Radio Tautoko, Tai FM and Radio Te Hiku in Northland.
Tumamao has received a number of awards for his television and radio work including Best Children’s Show at the 2003 Qantas Media Awards, Best Māori Language Programme at the 2005 Screen Directors Guild Awards and was winner of the Best Rangatahi (Youth) Show at the National Māori Radio Awards for ‘Te Mana’.
