“ink”, “art”, “pieces”, “tats” – it all refers to the same thing – tattoos. And Aotearoa is one of the most tattooed nations in the world. About one in five adults have been tattooed, with women more likely to get one than men and young people.
Tattooing is now a big part of modern culture – and the technology used for tattooing has come a long way since the first tattoo machine was invented by Samuel O’Reilly back in 1891. We headed along to The Tattooed Heart to catch up with renowned tattooist Adam Craft, to check out the role of technology in getting “inked”…
