Imagine a beer mug which features an alarm that goes off if it gets too warm and wirelessly transmits consumption information to be monitored. Or how about a belt for the blind which senses objects around it and buzzes with varying intensity depending how close objects are. These are just two examples of DIY electronics or the craft computing movement that is growing and appeals to people who are interested in creating their own electronics using low-cost, easy to use tools, like Arduino. We caught up with a group of DIYers to find out more about the technology they use and went along to one of their show and tell sessions to see some of their Arduino creations…
